The power of nature

There is a growing body of evidence that the natural environment nurtures human beings. Anecdotally, many people report the positive effects of access to nature, and there have been a number of studies providing evidence of the link between exposure to the natural environment and wellbeing.

Regardless of age or culture, people find nature restorative. The Place of Reflection has been specifically designed to take advantage of this, providing a protected environment where the sights, sounds, smells and physical sensations of nature can be experienced in a gentle and reassuring way.

"I really like the words on the path as well as the words on the bench. If you have come through a time of grieving, you do at times feel very alone – particularly if you have experienced the loss of a life partner. The words on the bench ‘You are not alone’ were particularly meaningful to me."
