Welcome!
We invite you to visit The Place of Reflection
The Place of Reflection is set high on Kings Park and Botanic Garden’s iconic Mount Eliza escarpment fringed by a canopy of trees and overlooking the beautiful Swan River in Perth, Western Australia.
It is a place where all people who have suffered loss can seek peace, healing, hope and renewal in nature’s garden.
The Place of Reflection arose from the inspiration of the organising
consortium and resulted in this amazing place for present
and future generations.
The BGPA allocated 700 square metres of the most scenic part of the park. Lotterywest provided a grant in excess of $1 milion. The balance of the funding came from many private donors.
What you will find
Loss takes many forms but the death of a child, an accident, a tragedy, a
missing family member, torture and cultural loss are particularly poignant and
difficult to understand.
Finding a place to reflect in peace and
tranquility has been a vision of many in the community. The Consortium
spearheaded the willpower to create such a place and, after many years and
meetings, has turned a dream into a reality.
By entering the Place of
Reflection you will find yourself in the heart of nature where the sun, dramatic
skies, poetic shifts of light and shade, the flow of water and breezes, the
sounds of birds and the fragrances of the Australian bush envelop
you.
This simple and quiet transition from life to a tranquil place of
reflection will be both transformative and restorative, a place where the
natural elements link to the cycle of past and future life.
The Place of
Reflection is not only for today but for generations to come.
