Welcome to the Place of Reflection
The Place of Reflection is a contemplative space in Kings Park that is available to everyone in the community. This beautiful and tranquil site – set in a secluded area of the Roe Gardens, high on the Mt Eliza escarpment – draws on the healing power of nature to support those suffering many different forms of loss.
Walking paths, contemplation platforms and seating provide opportunities for individual reflection and quiet discussion, while the Marlee Pavilion provides a sheltered space where groups can hold organised events.
The Place of Reflection is a precious resource for the Western Australian community: a protected space where loss is felt and acknowledged and where nature encourages the seeking of understanding, healing, hope and renewal.
Grief counsellors, funeral directors and celebrants learnt more about
the healing potential of the Place of Reflection at an
event held on 18 April 2013. A project team is currently working to
raise awareness of the Place of Reflection more broadly within the
community, and further demonstration events will be held throughout the
year. For information, contact team leader Noni Walker on 0408 918 050.
